If you are anything like me in the morning, you want to
sleep in as long as possible before getting up and leaving for work. That means
I hit the snooze about 4 times before actually getting up. Generally, I don’t
even have time to get ready in the morning. I talked myself into thinking I
could really get away with wearing no makeup. I tend to agree with myself,
until I look in the mirror on my car ride to work. Yikes!
The most important thing to me is taking as little time as
possible to get ready, 10 minutes tops would be ideal for me. I didn’t want to
look like I put a ton of makeup on. I still wanted to look natural and I didn’t
want to worry about touch ups. And generally, I have dry skin so my makeup and
skin starts to look pretty dehydrated after a few hours, which can make me look
cakey. I have to meet with clients on a daily basis and I don’t want to look a
mess as the day goes on. So I finally decided I wanted to try BB Cream.
BB Cream (known as beauty balm, blemish balm, ect.) was
developed to be an all-in-one product to protect your skin, treat it, and cover
it all at the same time. I’ve heard that some of the best BB Cream came from
Korea but since I decided to try this out on a whim, I just headed to my local
Walmart and picked up Garnier BB Cream in Fair/Light for about $12.
Garnier definitely gives a great deal of product. The
texture is much thicker than I anticipated but it spreads very easily and
fairly thinly. It does feel like a thicker lotion to me and once it is all
blended on my face, it feels very light on my skin.
I didn’t know what to expect with this BB Cream but I
definitely liked it. I have uneven skin tone across my face as well as a lot of
redness around my nose and chin area. I say this cream is light coverage and
just evens out my skin tone if anything. It’s definitely perfect for me for
everyday wear or a lazy Sunday where I do not want to put on a full face of
makeup. It just helps me looked refreshed and my skin looks natural.

You can see here in the photo that my freckles are a slight
bit less noticeable and my under eye circles are toned down a bit. Since it
works like a lotion, I don’t have to worry about my face drying out during the
day. If I feel like I need more coverage, I sometimes top it off with a little
powder. But I generally just wear the BB Cream on it’s own. It's really easy to
apply. You can do it with a brush, or if you're generally in a rush like me, I
apply it in the car lol and sometimes I take a bathroom break when I get into
work and slather some on really quick ;)
If you’re looking to shorten up your daily routine or just
looking to try a BB Cream, I definitely would recommend Garnier’s BB Cream. The
only con about BB Creams is there is not a wide variety of shades to match
everyone. Try it out and let me know what you think!
Along with this month's review, I received my 2nd ipsy bag
of the year! I have to be honest, I wasn't too excited about my January bag.
I've used BigSexy hairspray before and I love it for when I tease my hair but I
definitely don't tease my hair anymore and I don't need hairspray on a daily
basis. So it's just been sitting on my bathroom counter. As for the aragon oil,
I accidentally spilt it :( But I do have to say I enjoyed the oil for my face
and hair when I did have a chance to use it. However, I did not enjoy it's natural
scent. The lotion was nice but it's just lotion to me. But this month's
bag has me over the moon. I am so excited to try it!
I received the Coastal Scents 'Glitz &
Glamour' set. I've been saying how I needed more silver, cool tones! And I've
always heard great things about Coastal Scents on YouTube but I've never
actually had the chance to try it out yet. I will do swatches of this soon.
I received some Lash Cards for mascara
application. I'm not sure if this will be much used to me. I generally don't
have issues with applying mascara.
I'm
excited to test out the "poreless" claim on this primer. I have HUGE
pores on my nose. :(

And, Mica gel eyeliner in black! I'm so excited.
I have strayed away from gel eyeliners for so long since I ran out of my
favorite Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner. I never repurchased because I didn't want to
spend $18 at the time. I find a few other alternatives that I liked and will
share with you all soon. But hands down, gel eyeliners are my favorite type of
eyeliners. I can't wait to try this Mica gel eyeliner out!
Let me know if you have tried any of these
products and if you liked them or not :) Talk to you all soon!
